Wine/Red art opening night

Do you like wine and cheese? What about wine theme and red art? Well then I have the show for you! Friday, September 5th is the opening night at the Karen Solem Gallery in Elmhurst, IL. You'll find four rooms of art, many artists in attendance and wine and refreshments. My paintings, "The Tryst" and "Cherry Pop" will be on display.

Signaled Work

I entered three of my mosaics into Ciel Gallery's "Contemporary Mosaic Art" juried exhibition. The incredibly talented Giulio Menossi of Italy was the juror. Two of my pieces were accepted into the show, "Gridlock" and "Temperature Rising". The icing on the cake was "Gridlock" was one of five accepted pieces to be awarded the distinction of being a "Signaled Work". I cried so hard when I got the e-mail that my husband thought someone had died. If you're in the Charlotte, NC area be sure to check out the show at Ciel Gallery. It's rare to find all mosaic fine art shows and they are not to be missed! The show runs from September 5-26th and is owned by the fabulous Pam Goode. Pam also included a section of my mosaic nude, "Dangerous Curves" on the promo postcard for the show.

Summer is flying by way too fast. Everytime I get ready to stock my Etsy store another gallery comes calling and my art goes running out of my studio. Right now I have a new grand opening date in my head, but I'm afraid to say what it is for fear it won't happen. I really feel like it'll be sometime in September. I'm anxious to get my feet wet and join all my Etsy friends with the wait for a sale.

What a birch!

I've been slinking about in cemeteries with my camera lately taking some interesting pictures and appreciating the craftsmanship that used to go into headstones. On a recent outing I came across this lovely moss tinged piece of birch bark. I was drawn to the texture and the natural green background.

There's a new art venue in town!

If you live in the Chicagoland area I invite you to check out Poe.m Arthouse located at 5226 Main St. in Downers Grove. Their grand opening is Saturday, August 2nd from 10AM-10PM. My African mask, "Bob, Why the Long Face?" will be on display as well as an eclectic assortment of cutting edge art and fashion accessories from many other talented artists.

Front Page....Woo Hoo!

While I was updating my blog my newest treasury made it to the front page! Yay!

Relationships/Abstracts Opening Night

Come enjoy a vibrant selection of art of all kinds and a wine tasting at the Karen Solem Gallery in Elmhurst, IL on Friday, August 1st from 5:30-8:30PM. My acrylic painting "Choices" and my mixed media sculpture "Converge" will be on display.

Summer is flying by...

and I'm woefully behind with many things, including updating my blog. I've been expanding my garden, researching Etsy to prepare for my store opening and creating, creating, creating.

Below are a few more of the treasuries that I've curated that have made it to the front page on Etsy. Yay!
